Tonic - So I didn't think I was gonna write anything tonight but Elektra suggested I do. So I just have a couple of random thoughts that occurred to me today. First off, I'm never gonna work out before playin v-ball again. Gosh I moved like molasses out there tonight.

Second thought, I didn't think I was gonna stay at the Rec for a long time. I ran into a bunch of peeps, dude don't y'all got anything to do for Spring Break.

Third point, Norris and I had a good convo after workout bout how people think they from the D, but haven't gone south of 8 Mile yet.

4th thought that we had is how come Girls Gone Wild never come out to OU? We decided that you ain't a real college if GGW has not visited yet.

5th thought, after havin # 4 we decided to interview some girls if they would like to start a GGW OU Chapter. Actually, I did all the talkin to the girls though, Norris kept singin Eminem.

6th thought, I hate how someone talks so much bout their game yet they make all sorts of excuses when it ain't there.

7th thought, wow Cougie has really improved his v-ball skillz :)

8th thought, where the heck are my business cards from Office Max, geez it's been 2 weeks now! They said it would only take 3-5 days!

9th thought, Why am I so lazy to work on my resume? My goal was to get it done with business cards by Mid-Winter break. Well that break has passed and yet I got nothing.

10th thought, wow I haven't played video games for like a week it is close to my world record.

11th thought, whoa raisin the bar just called but it got postponed for Wednesday night :)

12th thought, wow I've now gone to 7-11 for a slurpee the last 6 nights now.

13th thought, What the heck ever happened to my Lego's? I had like a Metropolis going back in the day until Godzilla aka my baby cousins at the time destroyed it.

14th thought, I've been havin this urge lately to get out my Transformers and GI Joe's lately and playin with them. Oh yeah and my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

15th thought, I think these thoughts really make me sound dumbfounded or something like that. Oh well, those are my thoughts for the day so now ya know how I thought on Feb. 28th.

Avis Park - Well someone already beat me to memory lane bout last night. Last night, was just a joyous occasion to celebrate the 1 month birth of Alex and Ying's bundle of joy. Driving back home, it got me thinking bout how things started back at Huffin N Puffin Park down on V-Roy. It was actually 10 years ago when I first started ballin there. I still remember the first day that I went there to scout the competition and I was talkin to Single Wong, now known as Papa Wong bout how often they play there. This joint was probably the first place that I seen so many Asians in an area, especially The Heights. Gosh, I met a lot of peeps over there and for some odd reason everyone was related to everyone in some sort of way. Everyday hot summer day after school, I would head up there because ya know there was a game going on. I felt like I had to be one of the most hated up there too. I play with a certain swagger, and confidence which for some odd reason too, that started some altercations. Those were the days though...

However, just like last night things have changed...a lot. I mean those whom I met at Huffin N Puffin Park now are married, have kids, and b-ball is like not up there as a priority. I'm glad a lot of my friends whom I've come gotten to know since then are happy and blessed with the start of a new family. Just like CBC V-ball, though the park these days aren't as full because priorities have shifted. I still go in the summer time to play, to represent but it's not the same as it was 10 years ago. This was like my Rucker Park of NYC, hmm we should have some sort of 10 year reunion b-ball game over there. Well 10 years for me at least.....

In the meantime, just like I told my boy Jimmy, CGC ain't got nothin on me ;) I'm glad that Luda, Michael Irvin, Ira Newble as I like to come them are back too. With the cross church trash talkin, and the brotha's returnin it's time to get out of cruise control and play with that swagger again.

L.C. Smith - Wow, I guess I better get to this before it gets old which is the Detroit Zoo. As much as I love the Zoo, but if they gonna save it they better revamp the joint. Everytime I go, I still feel like I can see the same stuff in my backyard. Compared to the other zoos such as the Minnesota Zoo, now that place was rockin. I felt like I walked into Jurassic Park over there, so I say not only save it, but improve it. All we really got is that Arctic exhibit, and some peacocks runnin free.

It's set in stone now, Easter week, The Kid invades Sin City. I'm looking forward to this trip with my family. This will be the first in a few years now that it will be my parents, sis, and myself all in the same spot for vacation. However, they'll only be there for a couple of days before they head back home. My tix is set for the week and I plan on doing some training out there. I also plan on driving out to LA for sure. I also wanna drive out to Salt Lake City, and Phoenix so I can check off those states off my list.

Now I'm workin on the July 4th vacation which looked like Seattle/V part 2. However, now it looks more like Part 2 alright, but back to the Motherland, HK baby. I think I'm straight going to either one, but I really wanna go back to HK. I feel as if I have more to prove over there to my fam. I wanna see how my cuz, Mackey is doing in v-ball, did she improve her abilities? I wanna play b-ball to show everyone how we ball in the states. I wanna train over there for CCUC compared to last year when I hurt my knee and couldn't do any of that mentioned above. Ooops gave away my answer to what I'm gonna do for Labor Day weekend, wedding or CCUC? Oh well, she don't read this anyways because I'd rather go through a war in Chicago than dressed GQ for a weddin.

K8 - Woohoo, I met another celeb but of course I didn't have my camera on hand. Today, was National Fitness Day at OU so we had all sorts of events for people to compete in. Thanks to my twin, Bridget to take my hockey shifts so I could sneak off and meet him. I got introduced to Lomas Brown baby! I showed his son around the Rec and played some ball with him. I'm shocked that some peeps don't know who he is, I mean he is a Lions legend #75 on the O-Line.

We played 2 rounds of playoffs tonight at Joe D's. My team is back once again to the Finals for the second straight time. However, of course more drama with my team and I don't know where I stand anymore. My t'mate B is now regarded as the most hated player in the league. How hated is he? Well, even some of my other t'mates do not like him and I'm tryin to help diffuse everything. Tonight was playoffs so everyone was playin at their highest, and emotions got the best of a lot of people. People chuckin the balls back n forth to each other, droppin f-bombs to each other, callin each other assholes, and then there's me just doin my thing.

Some say he's cocky, but is he? He's hollerin and hootin at every great play he makes. If I get a great kill, I do a lil dance, shuffle, or brush the dirt off my shoulders, but why doesn't anyone have a prob when I do that? If B makes a mistake, he admits it is his fault, but that's not good enough from my t'mates. However, I make a mistake and admit it, why doesn't anyone jump on my case?

On the flipside, I've been called PacMan because I always want to be fed the ball. Now I'm referred to as Superman because everyone thought that I just put the team on my back and got us in the Finals. I got a lot of hugs from my t'mates, but the opponents all hugged me too, that was a new feelin. I would just hope everyone sees that I play with all my heart and I won't let a bad shoulder or pinky stop me. Now everyone is rootin for us to win the Finals as the underdogs, # 3 vs. # 1. Just put the pressure on my back as well because some peeps' games are built for show, but I'm built to go.

Like Kobe says in his commercials, love or hate me, love me for my game or hate me for it.

Timberwolves - It was nice today to hang out with my boy KG. He was probably my best friend in high school because we did everything together. We played ball at Dumar's every Friday, went to concerts, movies, and just had a great relationship. His parents always treated me with love as well. I remember when he would love school for his co-op job before lunch and I'd just skip school every other day and chill at his house before he went to his job. I'm glad that he's got success down in Orlando though.

It's ironic, because I remember I used to annoy KG to death. He hated my guts in jr. high because I was obnoxious in class, and cocky on the court. It's funny how in high school we just have this strong bond. We were lookin back at our LaserQuest days when we were members there. No one wanted to mess with Dimebags (KG) and Galvatron (Me), we always finished in the top 3. We were so good that we got invited to play in the Doc Hollywood special.

I think I met my female twin when it comes to sports. Bridget and I have now the same ugly pinky and now she has my splint that I made. It was fun because in the IM office we were comparin battle scars, and war wounds. She's probably one of the toughest female cookies I've met in the sports world. We play hurt because pain is temporary baby.

Lastly, wow I can't believe I'm sayin this but man I'm addicted to Facebook. Thanks to KC for helpin me how to use it.

Omni Center - I wasn't gonna say much today because well it wasn't too exciting of a day. However, as I was walkin into the gym to shoot around before I got ready to work at the Rec, an amazin thing happened. I saw some ballerz who looked so freakin familar to me. So I checked out there gear, and I'm like nah no one would ever sport that team, but I was right!!! It was them, the Atlanta Hawks standin all in front of me. They were runnin a team practice at the Rec before they battle the Pistons tomorrow night. I didn't say much to them because I was too star gazed plus I wanted to play with them too. It sucked also because I had to get ready for work as well and set up soccer and v-ball.

But it was cool, I mean last year's dunk champion Josh Smith less then a foot away from me. After there practice, Tony Delk and Tyronn Lue went at it in ping-pong, let me tell ya they both got some game in that too. Zaza was watchin the ping-pong match while the rest of the team was checkin out the Rec. The Rec is the place to be for a lot of the NBA teams because a lot of them practice here. I've had my moments where I saw Ben Wallace, Lindsey Hunter and others come out to play here.

If I had one question to ask them, I wanted to ask Josh what he thinks about Nate Robinson as this year's Dunk champ. I knew I should of brought my digital camera with me today too :( Lomas Brown's gonna be at the Rec this Wednesday to help celebrate the National Fitness Day.

Exile Island - Well it's been a couple of weeks into Survivor and I already got my final four picks that I hope will win. As usual the long term is that my goal is to be on this show because I believe I can last physically, mentally, etc. So here are my personal fav's with reasons:

Terry - I like this guy because he's a hard worker and he tells it straight up. He seems like a high integrity guy and a leader.
Bruce - He just seems so mentally strong and goes with the flow on everything. This guy is a teacher and martial arts expert. He also seems like he is all heart when it comes down to it. Lastly, gotta show some Asian love to him.
Danielle - What can I say but she is hot! Actually she plays a lot of sports so ya know she's athletic. Another reason is well she's hot so I hope she lasts til the end.
Misty - Southern hospitality, well she's cute too. Plus she plays sports and and was Miss Texas at one time. Again she cute, the sad part is that she got voted off tonight because of her brains :( So I am down to 3 picks left.

My shoulder doing certain motions, but I think I'm gonna scrap the ICY Hot on Saturday. Gotta get ready to lead the CBC Pistons to the Finals on Sunday. I need to test how my physical health is on Saturday. Wow were the games on TNT tonight really boring? Well at least we finally got rid of Darko, but why get Cato? I wanna see more of Amir Johnson, that boy can sky.

Rockford Peaches - So I don't know how I keep gaining these jobs, but I am now a girl's v-ball coach. I was excited at first because I thought it was like jr. high girls, but nope I got the 5th grade girls who are all beginners. I told them that I was gonna push them as hard as if I wanted to be pushed to play/learn the game. I just hope next week when I do drills with them that I have no crying because there's no crying in v-ball. Gosh I feel like Tom Hanks from A League of Their Own. I can't wait to see who I make to do push-ups, and suicides. Coach K, it's gotta ring to it :)

Last regular game of the season and tied for 2nd playin against the team we tied with. You would figure everyone on my team would be there for this. But nope not the case, we had one girl who decides to be a no show without tellin anyone, and another girl who shows up but leaves at game time because she had other plans. So we go at it 4 against 6, and we lost all the games within 4 points. Technically, I'm not supposed to be playin after the Doc evaluated me. Apparently, I have sprained all the tendons surrounding my rotator cuff so I have probs liftin my arm up.

However, that ain't gonna stop me because it's bout the playoffs now. Just patch up my shoulder with ICY Hot and I'm ready to go. Everyone was surprised how much I was jump servin, but I wanted my team to stay in the game. What pisses me off is my t'mate B, as he gave the other team the cold shoulder when we shook hands. It gives the team a black eye in sportsmanship, and I don't like it and I apologized to the other team for it. Oh for sure I need to evaluate my status with this team once we're done.

Houston - I'm excited to hear that 4 of the 5 Pistons were named to the East All Star team. I still have hope for TayTay too. For sure I gotta get me a Billups All-Star jersey! Also we got Coach Martz to help transform our Wet Toast Offense into the Greatest Show on Turf Part 2. The Red Wings defeated the Predators 3-2. Good day for Detroit Sports all the way around!

I'm bummed though my man Chris Paul didn't make the All-Star team :(

Let's see, I wrapped up jury duty yesterday. I was quite shocked that I was selected to be on the jury. It was wierd too because of all the 200 prospective jurors there, I was the youngest. As I was selected, I felt like I was on the Budweiser Hot Seat because the plaintiff kept asking me questions about how I will vote. Being on the jury reminded me of Survivor, because as both lawyers said that the power is on us to decide. As I was in the jury room, it was like a Survivor tribe because everyone wants to vote this way and so many different personalities that we had to work with. In the end, I hope I made the right decision on the case. The Judge spoke to me after the case was over and I shared some of my insight about things. It was cool because he thought I made a lot of good points about the case. It was nice to hear that because I always thought I'd make a pretty darn good lawyer if I didn't hate politcs so much. It was an honor to serve though after all 225 years ago this was what the people who helped shaped this country died for.

Dang it, I found out Dodgeball starts soon and my shoulder still hurts in certain motions. I think I might of found a short term cure, which is buyin a shoulder strap that I can wear while I am playin. I also got this stupid blister on my foot which is makin it hard to walk or run. On top of that, I got this sore throat, cold, and fever that's makin me a lil weak. Man I'm just damaged goods at this point.

Screech - Hmmm I think I need a MRI on my shoulder. I called it right again a week ago, as I wrote about how one of my t'mates was controlled by his hormones at our game. Some of my other t'mates brought it up to me before the game in how they noticed B's tryin so hard ot impress her. As the games began today, it had an inverse effect to last week. I sensed something was up because I noticed he played awful in the 1st and 3rd games, yet did pretty well in the 2nd. The wierd thing was that Nikki was watchin the 1st and 3rd games. I can sense something was off balance.

After we swept the fake Titans, Nikki gave me a 'tude for how I was jokin with one of my t'mates. Normally, Nikki is pretty mellow in chatting with me. As the night went on, I found out that I was right again in that something was up. It turns out that Nikki and B actually went on a couple of dates prior to tonight. However, she shot him down for another which is why he played better when she was not watching. All I gotta say is DUDE y'all older than me, why bring the drama to a game I love to play? To me, boo hoo she does not want to go out with ya anymore, get on with your life and move on. This is why peeps need to train themselves mentally strong for this type of stuff.

On the flipside, I pretty much played lefty today. I even served lefty, which just shows how much my shoulder hurts. The team wants me to shut it down for a week, but playoffs are comin up and I wanna lock up 2nd. I'll only have to play in the important things for this week now. It was fun quizzing each other bout Saved by the Bell trivia during our game tonight though.

Diddy's Party - Ran into Laura, the hottest bartender at Elysium and one of my high school gal pals.
Grand Circus Park - The Super Bowl is over and I've been downtown everyday since Thursday. It is just a good feelin to be able to say, yeah let's go downtown to do something. It's like usually when I'm in the V, Seattle, Chicago, NYC, etc. it's like I love to go downtown to do things. So I already gave my thingy about Thursday.

Friday's recap, was insane! P. Diddy's party was fun, but wasn't worth my $200. Nonetheless, at least I can say that I went to one. I met so many peeps at the party such as the Mayor Kwame, Braylon Edwards entourage, Tom Arnold, Rick Fox, Tommy Lee, Seattle Seagal (cheerleader), Mike Tyson, and of course P. Diddy and his entourage in 5 Escalades. What was the shocker, was walkin in to seein one of my old high school mates Laura as a bartender. She was lookin as good as ever and I had to let her know. She was probably the closest thing to an Asian friend for me back in the day. Man, I really miss those days in French class when we use to talk durin class to kill time.

Let's see, after the Diddy party, it seemed like everyone just rolled into MGM. It's like I saw the same peeps and we were all makin noise throughout the casino. Well, I played some craps and won $110 which helped cover half the lost I had at the Diddy party. We didn't get home til 6:30 a.m. what a night I tell ya. We met some girlz too, some very aggressive ones, from the ATL.

Sunday morning was insane because I met so many of the underappreciated peeps of the Super Bowl. I was workin the parkin lots, and I had all the peeps workin the game park in my lot. It was cool meeting the photographers, writers, NFL security, and all those peeps who sit in the Press Box. I love hearing there insight of what they have to do for this game. I was walkin around Comerica Park to check out the craziness a couple of hours prior to game time. I had so many people offer me lotz of cash straight up if they could park in my lot. If this one dude, LT didn't mess things up, and let me run this side job he would of never got caught by our supervisor. The coolest thing was having the Girls Gone Wild bus driving past me when I was walkin around.

I had some things to take care of, but this party I was at was tight. I love seein some of my old high school crew and what they been up to. Played some Hold'Em after, and everything was on the up and up.

Random thoughts: My mommy's really sick, but she more worried bout my shoulder than her own health. I'm like vice versa, I hope she gets better. I realized how much I miss hangin out with my high school friends. Also, if ya think ya know me then you don't really don't. If you do know me, then ya only know the half of it. Just recognize..........

NFL Experience - Big Ben vs. Matt Hasselback

QB Challenge - B-Hater showin Joey how it's done!
The Drive - B-Hater posin before gettin outreached by me :)
Ren Cen - The night view from the Campus!

40 -
Oh boy do I have a big ouchie in my shoulder. I need to get this thing checked out this weekend because I can't cock my arm back in quick motions. This would lead to problems later tonight. So the B-Hater and I went Downtown tonight and we checked out the NFL Experience! I saw Michael Boulware there! We participated in some of the events, and I tell ya the wait in line is like waiting at Cedar Point. Some of the events were stupid, because it's like waiting in line, and when you get there you just throw a football as far as you can. It's like doing the same thing in my backyard without the wait.

We participated in the QB Challenge, and this is where the probs began. I did some practice motions with my arm throwing the football. I just can't get a clean release off, but I was able to hit 1 target out of 3 attempts. B-Hater and I also got a free Snickers while waiting in line. Actually, a mom forced her son to give one to each of us since he had 3. We felt so bad :( I bought a Terrible Towel!

Afterwards, we walked down to the Campus to check out everything. The big slide was shut down :( If it wasn't raining we were gonna go ice skating. We checked out the Taste of D, mmm the cinnamon roasted almonds I got were yummy. We also stood next to the Channel 4 station where Devin was doing the 10:00 news.

It was a lot of fun seeing so many people walking around Downtown. Kid Rock even mentioned it tonight sayin how a lot of places usually have so many people downtown, but in the D once it hits 6:00 the streets are empty. However, real peeps from the D have hope that this city is turning around. No sell-outs to those who chose to leave, in the D we rough it out through thick and thin, just like all those who jumped on the Pistons bandwagon after we started winning. Where were y'all at when we were 32-50, the D we keep it real.

Mucus - I am so pissed at how tonight's v-ball game went. Pissed wouldn't even be able to describe my emotions. Most would say, well winnin 2 out of 3 isn't bad and it's better than losing all of them. Prior to the game, everyone knew I was playin with the flu and they could just tell I wasn't feelin well. During the 1st game, I tried to make a diving save on a freeball. However, I fell short and popped my shoulder out of place. I had an injury timeout, and one of my t'mates helped me pop that sucker right back in. After all 3 games, I sat on the bench to relax and reflect why we lost a game. At the time, Ryan was massaging my shoulder to try and keep it loose then I got medical attention from Nicole trying to wrap ice on it.

But it's not really any of those things that really pissed me off. It's how one of my t'mates, B played which pissed me off. It's only been 3 weeks now that he's joined our team and I am starting to notice how much attention he gives to a specific female at Joe D's. None of my business if he's tryin to hook up with her, which he is doing at a rapid aggressive pace. The thing is, that she was reffing our game and he acted out of character tryin to impress her. Here are my examples of his hormone rages and italics are my mental reactions to it.

1) Got some kills, hootin and hollerin after each one. Why don't you hoot and holler when they roofed ya just as many times as you got a kill?

2) Complained to the wings bout not tellin him how many blockers there are. Great hitters should already see where the blocks are comin from.

3) Gets roofed and complains at the wings for the coverage. Maybe if ya learned how to hit line they won't block ya angle, ya think?

4)
Hootin and hollerin when he finally blocks one but opposition was able to get over still. Celebrate after the play is dead ya dummy, cuz of your early celebration, it just cost us a point after they dumped it over ya.

5) Changes the defense because they keep successfully dinkin it over him. Read the set, it gives the hitter away if he's going to hit it or not. Due to the hormones on that, your too busy tryin to super block everything to impress her.

6)
Tryin to lead the huddle on my called timeout. Who died and made you Captain America on this team? But I'll let you speak so you think you can impress her.

7) We reduced his sets in the last game because I said so :) How do ya like them apples? Maybe when you learn how to hit from the weakside, then I don't need to kill as many from the backrow.

I just want him focused on the game at hand, if he wants to flirt then do it after the game. All these things I have listed was out of character for him. He needs to cockblock his hormones for 1 hour and just stay focused. Great players show they are great, they don't need to say it on the court. Gosh it just pisses me off, and he better shape up next week otherwise I'll need to put him in his place with a game of 2's.

6 games left before playoffs and I ain't gonna let him ruin the team's chances of getting a 'ship.

All Down Hill From Here

Wednesday, February 01, 2006

Maguire - Well, I finally heard it for the first time of 2K6 at WB V-ball. To paraphrase, it was pretty much if ya don't know how to run a 6-2, or 5-1 get your booty downstairs for lower level of play. At the same time that is a trick question because I can suck at v-ball and still know how to run the offense. I'm strugglin with the notion that is it right to ask people to go down and play when they pay the same $6 as I did? It's like if I bought X-Men Legends the same day as another person did who plays PS2 more than I do. So he is better than me, and we purchase the same product. Eh just so difficult to think what is right?

On the flipside, I hate it when others who are good players put down those who aren't as skilled in front of everyone. WB V-ball as I continue to explain to peeps that it is political and some peeps are just so prideful to recognize it. This is a "show me" place to play and if ya make a bad 1st impression then it just snowballs downhill. My main setter, usually sets me but the first couple of games he gives everyone a fair chance to hit. He wants to see who can hit and if ya can't then he won't set you as much. I'm just worried people think I am a ballhog if I am always hittin. At the same time, this is a "show me what you can do" area and it is what it is.

Unfortunately, a friend who came out tonight felt she played bad so she is considering not comin back. I know she's got skillz otherwise I wouldn't of told her to come out. I tried to cheer her up, but it's hard when she gets crap passes when I'm in the front. Then I'm in the back row, and I try to take all the passes but no one can put it down. I don't think there was one spot I didn't hit from the floor tonight. As Mel said "K, you weren't only hittin 10's but you were hittin 20's" meaning how far back I had to hit just to sideout. I see it as my fault in the end that she doesn't feel like makin a return because I could of done more to help her.

At least I got to tattoo another victim on the chest to get my frustrations out.

Ghost
